Faculty Member, Philosophy
Assistant Professor of Philosophy / Director of The Institute of Applied Ethics
About
I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Utica College, a small private university located in Upstate New York, where I have also assumed leadership of the Institute of Applied Ethics. Prior to coming to UC, I taught at Concordia University in Montreal, and Queen's University at Kingston.
While my training has largely consisted of discussions of distributive justice with a particular emphasis on egalitarianism and disability, I also enjoy many contemporary debates happening in bioethics and medical jurisprudence.
I have been invited to conduct research at the Swiss Paraplegic Research Institute in Nottwil, Switzerland. I have also advised for numerous national and international institutions, some of which include Health Canada, The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, The National Disability Authority of Ireland, and The International Development Committee of the Council of Canadians with Disabilities.
Working at the intersection of ethics, law, and political philosophy, I have spoke & written on issues pertaining to distributive justice, applied ethics, social policy, and human rights legislation. Please see my personal website for a curriculum vitae with more details regarding work I have completed.
